Best Practices (NRLM)
- Pirul Products by SHGs: In Bajhiraunti village, Bageshwar block, the Golu Devta Self-Help Group is manufacturing various products from Pirul (pine needles). This activity generates an additional monthly income of ₹8,000 to ₹10,000 for the women members.
MGNREGA & NRLM Convergence (Nursery Establishment)
Several nurseries have been established through the convergence of MGNREGA and NRLM, providing employment and income generation opportunities.
- Sun Nursery, Bageshwar Block: This nursery, spread over 0.03 hectares, is managed by 64 women members from 10 self-help groups of Deepak Gram Sangathan. They have sold 3,200 saplings to date, generating an income of ₹0.53 lakh.
- Anarsa Nursery, Bageshwar Block: Covering 0.04 hectares, this nursery is managed by 38 women members from 7 self-help groups of Roshni Mahila Gram Sangathan. They have sold 12,000 saplings, earning ₹1.42 lakh.
- Baskuna Nursery, Kapkote Block: This nursery spans 1.0 hectares and is managed by 38 women members from 6 self-help groups of Dhaulinag Gram Sangathan. They have sold 500 saplings, generating ₹0.115 lakh.
- Khatgarha Nursery, Kapkote Block: Covering 1.0 hectares, this nursery is managed by 62 women members from 8 self-help groups of Hariyali Gram Sangathan. They have sold 4,000 saplings, earning ₹0.70654 lakh.
MGNREGA (Livelihood Package Model)
- Support for Rural Households: The livelihood package model under MGNREGA has benefited 534 families as of FY 2024-25. Assets provided include goat sheds, vermicompost pits, tanks, and home fruit gardens from MGNREGA, and goats, cows, and poultry from the Animal Husbandry Department. The total expenditure is ₹391.9 lakh.
- Case Study: Vimla Devi: Vimla Devi, previously living in a two-room house with her family and livestock, has developed new income streams through the MGNREGA and NRLM convergence. After the construction of a livelihood package, she has an additional room in her house and has adopted goat rearing and dairy farming, generating income.
Mission Amrit Sarovar (Phase-1)
- Water Bodies for Livelihoods: Out of 109 Amrit Sarovars constructed in the district, 69 were built under MGNREGA and 40 by various departments. 94 selected for livelihood enhancement activities, including fish farming, irrigation, and tourism.
- Thanga Dhyanad Amrit Sarovar, Bageshwar Block: With a cost of ₹9.99978 lakh and a water conservation capacity of 756 cubic meters, this sarovar is used for fish farming by 6 members of the Jai Ganga Nath Self-Help Group. Approximately 60 kg of fish has been produced to date.
- Harsila Amrit Sarovar, Kapkote Block: Costing ₹3.04500 lakh with a water conservation capacity of 210 cubic meters, this sarovar supports irrigation, fish farming, and wood carving. Beneficiaries earn an annual net income of ₹35,000 to ₹40,000 from selling approximately 1.50 quintals of fish. It also provides irrigation facilities to about eight rural families.
- Kumaura Sarovar, Garud Block: This sarovar, costing ₹13.95 lakh with a water conservation capacity of 1500 cubic meters, provides irrigation facilities to approximately 50 rural families for 5 hectares of agricultural land, resulting in good crop yields.
MPLADS (Saansad Nidhi)
- Infrastructure Development: Funds from MPLADS have been utilized for various infrastructure projects. A computer room was constructed at Inter College Gagrigol at a cost of ₹20.00 lakh. A safety wall was built in Narayan Dev Ward, Bageshwar, for ₹2.50 lakh. A library was constructed at Anandi Academy Bageshwar for ₹10.00 lakh.
Chief Minister Migration Prevention Scheme (Mukhyamantri Palayan Roktham Yojana)
- Anganwadi Center Renovation, Aso: Repair work of the Anganwadi center in Aso Gram Panchayat was completed at a cost of ₹2.00 lakh under the Chief Minister Migration Prevention Scheme.
- Culvert Construction, Aso: A culvert was constructed in Aso Gram Panchayat at a total cost of ₹12.00 lakh (₹10.00 lakh from CM Migration Prevention Scheme and ₹2.00 lakh from MGNREGA).
- Additional Room Construction, Aso Inter College: An additional room was constructed at Aso Inter College at a total cost of ₹12.00 lakh.
- Anganwadi Center Construction, Pakad: An Anganwadi center was constructed in Pakad Gram Panchayat at a cost of ₹12.00 lakh (₹10.00 lakh from CM Migration Prevention Scheme and ₹2.00 lakh from MGNREGA).
Cattle Rearing Scheme (Gaopalan Yojana)
- Dairy Units in Bajyula: In Bajyula Gram Panchayat, Garud block, 35 cow rearing units have been established with a total cost of ₹35.00 lakh.
