1. Moonj Grass Handicrafts
- Location: Sitarganj and Khatima Blocks.
- Project: SHG Federations (CLFs) like Jeewan Jyoti and Naya Savera are leading the production and marketing of Moonj grass handicrafts.
- Impact: This initiative provides livelihoods for over 500 women from 50 SHGs. The business is growing rapidly, with a turnover of ₹30 lakh in 2023-24 and a projected turnover of ₹44.78 lakh in 2024-25.
- Market Linkage: Products are sold on online platforms like ONDC and also exported to international markets, including Japan, Thailand, the USA, and the UK, giving local crafts a global stage.
2. Mission Amrit Sarovar
- Project: Creation of Amrit Sarovars (ponds) across the district to conserve rainwater and improve the ecosystem.
- Impact: The ponds have successfully recharged groundwater, raising the local water table and enhancing irrigation facilities for farmers. Furthermore, these ponds have been turned into productive assets. They have been allocated to SHGs and other community groups for income-generating activities.
- Economic Benefit: Beneficiaries have earned a total profit of ₹39.80 lakh from cultivating fish and water chestnuts (singhara) in these ponds.
3. One Station, One Product Scheme
- Project: Under this national scheme, stalls are allocated to SHGs at railway stations, providing a prime location to sell local products directly to travelers.
- Impact: A stall allocated to the Jivan Jyoti Cluster at Khatima railway station has demonstrated significant success, generating sales of ₹1,85,700 and a profit of ₹61,281. The scheme is a powerful tool for the economic empowerment of women, giving their products visibility and a ready market.
